250 Pro Street Project
Still working on it, but its on the road. 250 Pro Street Softail, 80 ci Evo, 5 spd, gotta make a custom seat, the one I have on it rides ok but looks like crap since I did not mount the fender the standard softail way. I mounted a hugger fender to the swing arm. 38 deg rake with 4 inch ext forks. Believe it or not about 90 percent of this bike was purchased on ebay, or I found the vendor on ebay, piece by piece, including the frame. Making fender braces from Craftsman wrenchs, yeh I know, been done by OCC, but they used Snap On. The engine and pipes are used, but the rest is from new parts. Once I have it the way I like it I will tear it down for paint.

I am looking at different paint schemes, some from custom painters, some of my own. I may just paint it yellow or white, let my kids and nieces doodle on it (they are pretty creative) then clear coat it, kinda like a Rick Farless. Another idea I have is a surreal patriotic red-white-blue scheme, where things are not as they should be.

Your actually going the route I may take in a year. Currently on my 03' Softail, I went to custom struts and cut off the factory fender struts to get a bit wider(180mm)tire in the back. But I may end up going with a hardtail fender welded to the rear swing arm. One thing you should do, is get a seat(and a gas tank for that matter) thats stretched which will sit back farther and lower on the bike against the rear fender. The seat's pan should be a 2 piece(seperated between the bottom and back rest, basically hinged)so that the seat/leather can flex against the rear fender when going over bumps to allow the rear suspension to be fully functional and not be hindered. It will improve the lines of your bike.
One question, why did you tack on rear fender supporters? Your bike is set up solo, if the fender is welded to the swingarm, they arent needed and would help clean the lines of the bike up.

I am going to fabricate a duo seat that will fill in that gap too. I have another post asking for opinions on which gel pad to use. I am also fabricating billet fender braces to replace the black straps.
I went through CHP inspection yesterday, only two things they were concerned about. First, American Made used white out on the DNA Frame MSO. Second, they book CHP has says that all DNA frames have the serial number stamped on the right side of the steering head. Mine was stamped on the left. After a few phone calls, DNA admitted that one or two frame have been stamped like mine and they have one sitting in the warehouse that way. I then took the paper work back to the DMV who then went round and round over the white out on the MSO again. Finally got out of there with my license plates.

Was getting 40 mpg, 1st tank with the new ignition 47 mpg. Plugs are a little to white (lean) so I just put in the next size main and pilot jets.
Found the problem with my starter. This is a brand new 1.6 kw starter that would not turn my engine over occationally. Took it apart and found one bent brush hood causing the brush to hang. Fixed that, dressed the brushes and comm, now turns the engine over faster than ever.
Fixed the primary leak at the spacer, with a new aluminum spacer. Chrome one was way out of tollerance at the o-ring seal areas. I have had the primary apart so many times that I have now cracked the gasket between the inner and outer. Will replace that today.
Gotta get to work on that seat....
