Insuring a Classic

Hey guys, I'm picking up my 65 Glide next Saturday (been in the family for 35+years), and need to insure the bike before I start riding. I called my local agent, and he told me I should go with a company that specializes in classic/antiques since he (the local) would only insure for the depreciated value, not the appreciated value of the bike. He referred me to and I tried www.hagerty.com but they would not insure the bike since I do not have another bike as my primary rider. Doesn't make much sense to me.
I plan to ride the bike some, but my main mode of transportation will be my cage. Any way, how have you insured your classics, and who did you go with?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!! ![Icon Toast](https://www.hdforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_toast.gif)

Do you think I'm in the right ball park insuring the bike for $22K? It's completely unmolested with the exception of the exhaust, chain, tires, left rear view mirror, and the seat had to be reupholstered. Engine's never been rebuilt as the bike only has 4,300 miles on it. Original paint and all of the good stuff. I'm thinking $22k was enough, but I would love to hear from you guys.

I own 2 sportys (1) is a 1974 XLCH and the other is a 1977 XLH. Plus a 2008 Street Gilde. All my Bikes for insure throw HARELY DAVIDSON for $494.00 a year on all of them.. Now remember all my Sportys for all stock and with only 6000 miles on them.. You just might want to call Harley also. (OH and I live in ILL were Insures is Hi..
