Hey Troy. Looks great! Afraid I’m not moving quite as fast as you on mine. It is all apart now, waiting for me to take it in and do some media blasting before paint. Not as motivated as spring has arrived and I’m having way too much fun on my KTM 1290 SuperAdventure. I anticipate getting the frame and other black parts ready this summer and assembling over next winter. Looking forward to seeing yours finished. Have a great day.

Once again looking great! Question though. Is the air cleaner cover supposed to be black? I thought it was originally chrome.

hi shoved, nice to hear from you ,yes the original air cleaner is chrome , but i like the black cover better. There is a y-tube video "1983 Harley Davidson FXDG Disk Glide Special Edition Twin Belt Wide Glide Shovelhead Willie G info " from winston wolf , he put on a black air cleaner ,and i kinda liked the look of it ,so thats why i went with it too.

It does look good. Was only asking because I had found a mint chrome one and wanted to be sure I didn’t waste my money. I could have found a black one for less. Mine is slowly coming along. All apart now anyway. So now I’m committed. Have a great day ✌

Hi shovhd, i mounted my tanks and new fuel lines & dash, now the only thing left is a battery & the belt drive kit, the battery I'am going to wait till i get the primary kit next month,... so maybe by October she should be ready to start up ! This has been a real long project but I've really enjoyed seeing it come together...thank God for the internet, i would say I've got about 85% of my parts though the Word Wide Web !!
the 1983 OEM tanks, ready to mount !!
