Default biggest motor in a shovelhead

I have a 1980 Sporty with a 1000cc Shovelhead. I blew the trans. case this past summer and am having trouble finding someone to fix it or finding a new one. I was looking at maybe putting a new revtech or s&s shovelhead motor into the bike. Has anyone ever done this on their sporty? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

First off it's not a Shovelhead unless it's Shovester conversion, it's an Ironhead Sportster.
Not sure what the max is with stock engine cases but I had one that was out to 86". (over 1400cc)
This was done with a stroker kit, case bore and remachined stud pattern for oversized jugs from Axtel.

To date, I have found no big bore kits for IRONHEAD engines. You can stroke it to 1200. But would not recommend stroking beyond 1200.

I recently sold a '72 Sprty motor with a 3.5" bore, Axtell cylinders, cases bored and base studs reloccated. It had 4 5/8 S&S flywheels in it. I believe it came to 88 cu.in.
