I am trying to take the bowl off my 92 evo's carb, but the brass bolts are in so tight I can feel myself stripping them, all of them. I sprayed them down with pb blaster and see what happens, but does anyone else have any suggestions? Can or should I try heating them up? Thanks, Glenn

Don't panic! Carefully drill into the heads, to remove them, which will enable you to get the bowl off, then tackle the bare screws. Replacement screws are widely available, from a dealer if necessary, although it would be wise to get them first.

When the Jap bikes first came out that was the only way we could service the darned things, even when they were only around a year old!

I actually grabbed the heads with a pair of dikes and just gripped the heck out of them and slowly twisted and they came out.
