Default S&S Super E on 80"EVO

So I got this electra glide. The owner before me slapped on a Super E and thought he didn't have to do any adjusting. When in reality the bike ran super rich. S&S puts a .0295 intermediate jet, a .072 main jet and a .040 main jet air bleed. I changed the jets to a .028 intermediate jet, a .066 main jet. The bike gets way better gas mileage and the exhaust sounds way healthier and louder. But, when I am cruising through the gears, at about 2500rpms the bike starts to lose a little bit of power until I crack the throttle and force the main jet to kick in. Ive read on here that it usually means its too rich at that point and needs a larger main jet air bleed to delay when the main jet starts. But to me it almost feels like the bike isnt getting enough gas in those rpms and forcing the main jet to kick in gives it the gas it needed and everything is fine from then on.

What does everyone think?

Look at your plugs, that'll tell you if it's right or not.
You're looking for a nice tanish type of color.

No! I got my S&S G tuned by a local shop on his dyno. You can download a tuning guide on S&S's website, which may help you. Be aware that it is possible to spend a lifetime trying to learn how to tune a carb - or you can visit an expert who will do it in a few moments! So if you find you are struggling to sort your bike out, seek expert help.
