Default Issues with 1996 flht fuel lines

I'm new for the form and have a question about fuel lines on my 1996 flht.
i got the bike a few weeks ago from a female owner and it appears to be missing a fuel line that connects under the bottom of the cutoff valve. Gas just flow out onto the ground. My question is where do the fuel line runs that connects under the fuel shut off valve?

The bike runs at start up but when you give it gas, it backfires and pops. I am thinking the missing return fuel hose is causing this. Need help......

Thanks

You refering to the Fuel petcock on the left side, rear of the tank? If you have fuel pouring out of the bike or carb overflow then the float is hung up and allowing fuel to endlessly flow out.
