Default How do I remove 1996 Road King carb?

Hello,

I have a 1996 Road King that I recently purchased but has set in the garage for 4 years. I tried starting the bike. The engine will turn but will not turn over. I can smell tar from the carburetor thinking that the carb may need cleaning up. How do you clean the carbs and btw this is my first HD. I would really appreciate any help. Thank you.

Remove the air filter and backing plate, then loosen the choke cable, remove the throttle cable, idle cable, there is a vacum hsoe on the back of the carb undo it, and then remove the fuel line and the carb should just pull forward. I would replace the fuel line while I was doing it. Also get a shop manual it will help.
