I would clean battery cables and make sure they are tight. Install a pair of Harley Davidson stock plugs. Could be a vacume leak, lightly spray WD 40 around intake with engine at idle and see if RPM's change. Any aftemarket parts on engine? tuner etc? Is this carb or FI?

Thanks for the help, i have a new set of plugs in the bike and i will try the wd-40 thing, if this does change my rpms do i need to change the intake gaskets? the only aftermarket thing is the exhaust and it has been on the bike since i bought it with 54k miles on it and it didn't do it back then or at least i didn't notice it. and it is a carb model i wish it was a FI thanks again.
