Question Need help diagnosing backfire/misfire

I hvae an 80 sportster XLH. It sputters alot in 2nd-3rd, then in 4th sputtering seems to go away. I've had it stall out a couple of times while riding.

I've ordered a voltage indicator to show my battery voltage.
I put in a little sea foam Just a small splash since I have the orig. 2.2 tank. I don't see any water at the bottom of the tank.

Didn't always do this so I'm wondering what might be going on. I'm on the side that I probably have a ittle water in the tank that I just can't see.

Any help and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Nick
