took off carb and broke it down. its soaking in solvent at the moment. will replace manifold seals while im at it. and give it another go

Has the carb been running good before this problem, or is this carb new to the bike?

I use the carb cleaner that comes in a gallon can, with the basket inside for dunking the carb body and parts. It will destroy any non metallic parts, so you must tear down the carb first.

You can probably find this at your local parts store.
