So... the carb i have on it right now doesnt have a place to put a reverse pull on so that i dont have to worry about the throttle sticking, and its starting to stick, which isnt so bad except for when i start lol.... i want to put a new one on , any inputs?

You don`t really need it, until the throttle cable starts to become frayed inside the housing, then you will wish you had the other cable to get the throttle shut off.

When this happens with a dual cable setup, the throttle gets a little hard to turn, but you can still ride home safely.

When it happens on a single cable setup, you shut the engine off and pull off to the side of the road.

No matter how well you lube a cable, it will eventually start to wear out and get tight, or break.

Pretty sure any modern carb will have both the throttle and idle cable provision.

Keihin CV carb, S&S carb or Mikuni HS42.

Avoid the old style Keihin butterfly type carb like the one you already have on the 83 Sportster, even if you find one with the dual cable provision, those carbs are like restrictor plates...
