Boggy Under Load

Boggy Under Load
Got a weird one going. 88ci, stock carb. Air sucker and VH open long shots.
I've had this tuned perfecto for several years. But a new intermittent issue is starting to rear it's head.
I'll fire up on choke, let it warm, cut out the choke and go to take off. (Procedure that hasn't had issue for years, despite the temps etc.)
Right away, as soon as it's under load it wants to bog and die. Both times I "fixed" it by blipping the throttle as much as it would take and backing off, til I got it to a good open revvvvvvvvvv and then it seems to take off fine.
My first thoughts are the jet being clogged and that process blows it open. But before I start disassembling and cleaning and FN about....I thought I might see if anyone else has had the same goblin.

Well, ya didn't "fix" a damn thing blipping the throttle. Try doing a Diagnostic Scan for ERRORS. No errors? Get a small bottle of Gumout Fuel Injector Cleaner. 1 1/2 ounces in a full tank of gas WILL clean out the carb. Check carb to intake manifold seal and manifold to head seals for air leak.

Sounds like your carb transfer ports or emulsion tube has some crap in it. You will know when you drop the fuel bowl and see if there is any extra stuff in the bottom of the fuel bowl.
Also check your vacuum slide and see that it moves up and down by sticking your finger in there and lifting it and see if it slides back down easily. Might have a hole or leak in the diaphragm.
Blipping the throttle puts extra gas in through the accelerator pump so it probably is starving for gas. Check the things above and go from there.
