dies with throttle

It's getting the small amount of fuel with idle air. As soon as you open throttle, that air has no fuel.

First thing I'd check is make sure all the intake gaskets between the air filter, and air filter adapter are on correct and there aren't any covered holes.
Next make sure the big oval hole on the carb is clear. DO NOT spray or put anything in that passage unless the carb is disassembled and the diaphragm is safely put aside.
Make sure the diaphragm is seated all the way around in its grove. Check the needle is properly installed and the hold down is in correctly along with the spring.
If the engine acts normally when you physically lift the slide the the problem has to be in the diaphragm area.

the diaphragm is in there right. it is not pinched. when i push it up manually, it comes down slowly. took carb apart and reassembled twice. can't think of anything i have done wrong. don't mean to sound dim, but how do you tweek the diaphragm? if there is a hole in it that you can't see through a flashlight, would the bike die immediately with throttle? thanks for your help!
