Default carb cough / bike dies on hard throttle

Experiencing a carb cough. If bike is idling and u rip on the throttle it'll pop or bog down and die. I assume its running to lean? The previous owner installed a stage 1 kit but I don't think he tweaked the carb accordingly. The cap for the adjustment screw is still on.

So I was wondering if there's a way to remove the covthe to get to the screw without having to drill it out or without having to take it off the bike?

Thanks in advance!

If that does not take care of the problem you may want to verify the accelerator pump is working ok.
