Default Accelerator Pump Push Rod

Hi all, great forum learning plenty, can not seem to find an answer to this question.

Just working my way through a new to me 2006 XL1200R Sportster, currently 40K I have stripped down the carb & cleaned all that I can, must say it was pretty dirty.

There does not appear to be an accelerator pump push rod installed, don't think it was there when I did the strip down.

The bike takes a while to warm up, she coughs splutters spits and overruns causing popping (which I quite like) and stalls until warm then she ticks over, she seems to bog down on a quick turn of the throttle and doesn't like to high a gear at slow speed.

I must admit I'm used to Honda Africa Twin so a Carburettor fed HD is all new to me.

Do I need this push rod, if so where can I buy one I don't see them listed on Ebay etc, if anyone knows the size perhaps I can make one.

Any views, ideas, suggestions are most welcome. Thank you in advance.

Steve

Yes you need the rod
I believe the p/n to be 27156-89
Call your local dealer
Sykes and Maidstone are open
Warr is "temporarily closed"

Check and see if the online arm of Chester H-D is still operating.

I'm sure I have one laying in my dead carb box. If you want one PM me and I'll ship it. You can PayPal the shipping to me.
