I've looked high and low for a diagram of this thing to no avail. My shop manual doesn't even have it. I was recently working on my carb and the accelerator nozzle just decided it didn't want to stay attached anymore while it was halfway upside down. I was able to catch all of the bits that came out from it (I think), but it seems a little "rattly" now when I put it back together. Was wondering if I'm missing a spring that retains that brass piece (check valve?). Logically, I would assume there is a spring that regulates that ball and rod assembly. Just not sure. I've already searched a bit around my bench / work area and haven't seen anything. Just trying to figure out if I'm chasing ghosts or not! Thanks for looking. Pics below:
This link does not reference a spring or anything but a check ball OR a check needle, (some came with a check ball, some came with a check needle), and again, no mention of anything else. Maybe you now hear a "rattle" because it's all clean?
I'm a dingus. I should read more carefully next time. Seems that it's supposed to rattle according to that Shovelhead post. That means that the part is free and working properly. Thanks again for sharing that.
