Default CV Carb Needle Jet Holder Different

Was attempting to change my main jet today on my 1998 Fatboy.....The tube/holder is different, there is no
hex head, and the main jet threads are smaller so the jet that I bought will not fit. Anyone recognize the one in my hand?
According to the parts catalog it should be part number 27101-88. (Shown below)
Not sure what to do, what do I have? Can I just replace it with that part number from Harley? Thanks in advance.

Just so there is no confusion, that is an emulsion tube with a chewed up main jet screwed into it (top pic). The needle jet is silver and is a smaller, easily lost but essential component. YD

I'm a bit confused about the needle jet being silver, and a vital component . . I have a 1991 FXSTS with OEM cv carb. my emulsion tube and main jet ( needle jet) look the same as the photo. Wait a minute .you mean the little steel one size fits all, tube thing that goes through the body of the carb , and the jet needle goes into it. I was scratching my head for a minute .

Yes, that is called the needle jet, and is the part you described. The positioning is critical and can sometimes be placed either upside down or lost completely.

what you have pictured in the original post is the emulsion tube and main jet, not stock, most likely dyno-jet hence the difference in appearance. the round emulsion tube and jet is hallmark of DJ, the stock HD emulsion tube has the 5/16 hex to screw in the carb body, with a round head, flat blade screwdriver slot to screw in the tube. there is also a difference in the main jet numbers between DJ and HD.. main jet size with Kehin/HD jet will vary based on your exhaust/engine mods, and the number will be different than a DJ main jet.
