Default warm start combo

My 05 RKC 103 stroker starts like a dream when cold, full choke, no throttle pump, not even a full revolution, then choke all in within 15 seconds and ready to go in 30 seconds without a spit or sputter. but as soon as its warm like stopping for gas ( non ethanol 91) 3 miles away I have to throttle it as I start it. otherwise it starts hard. All other performance/functions are perfect and it runs top notch. So I am wondering if this is just a normal carburetor / stroker thing or is there a quick/easy adjustment that will help to get easy/smooth warmed up starts? Does anyone with an EFI stroker have similar warm start symptoms?

Your warm start just 3 miles away from home is the problem! Everything else sounds fine and I wouldn't change or alter anything. I suspect that if you are able to stop for fuel further into your journey everything will be fine, but your bike hasn't really warmed up after only 3 miles. It sounds as if you have a dependable routine, so carry on!

Thanks for the reply, but 3 miles or 30 miles it starts the same, so i guess its an EFI install or just keep with the warm start combo that I have pretty much down to a science now, my 98 fatboy also had a warm start combo, but that was the most cold blooded bike i ever owned, with the Fatboy you had to warm it up for 5 minutes or else it would pop and sputter unless you left the choke half way on for the first couple of miles, I love everything else about my RKC so maybe an EFI kit install will be an option.

I would suspect it might be running a little rich and having to crack the throttle warm would indicate that you need more air on a warm start. JMO.
