mikuni hsr 42mm jetting questions

Default mikuni hsr 42mm jetting questions

Hi wondering if anybody would have any clue one what jets I would need for my mikuni hsr 42mm the bike it will be going on is an 02 fxdx mostly stock. I do have a thunderheader exhaust, an arlen Ness stage 2 big sucker air filter and a dynatec 88tc ignition any help would be great as I would like it properly jetted on the initial install thanks in advance

#160-165 main
#20 pilot (don't go any bigger) two turns on the A/F screw
#50 acc pump, .080 accelerator pump gap
Drop the needle as far as it can go (clip on top notch) and start from there, pick up a #98 needle, just in case you're still rich.

Thanks for the reply I have the mikuni complete jet kit on its way which was prolly lil overboard but wanted to have everything I'd need. Do u know by any chance what # acc pump comes In it

What the previous poster said. You will get good gas mileage and throttle response with the jetting he suggested. Use what ever pilot jet gets good idle warm at about 11/2 turns out. Probably 20 or 22.5

I think it was a #70, the kit'll come with a #60, go to an indy shop pick up a #50.
