The hose barb fitting came out of my sons gas Petcock . And I would like to repair it with some type of epoxy.

Clean the bore, the fitting, and press back in firmly. A little Loctite will help it seal and stay secure. YD

No, use Loctite blue thread locker. If you own a Harley you should own a tube of it for nuts and bolts..

That brass fitting is just a firm press fit. I think a slight taper in the bore and is what holds it. The Loctite blue is a little extra insurance.

Protect the metal, but a pair of channel locks, or a small c-clamp will press it in if you don't want to remove petcock. If it is of, then a vice I works, just don't force it too hard. that aluminum housing can crack. YD

I do have different types of loctite . But after reading the side of the Marine-Tex box . I really liked that it said it is IMPERVIOUS to gasoline and diesel fuel.
So that's what I used . And I do think this will be a permanent repair. Thanks

I also found this stuff . It's called X-PANDO , It also works with gasoline and many other chemicals. This joint comound expands as it sets ! And is great for very high temperatures.
