That's a good point provided the money used to buy the bike would rather be invested into something that pays a decent rate. But odds of that are very slim.
Most finance a high ticket item cause they dont have those said funds. Which might be alright in some people opinions.

I worked for the bank, you want to know where they get the money to build their locations ? Employees, Management Bonuses, Share Holders Dividends ?.
They get it from the money they charge from people who buy things they can not afford .
Yep, it is very Cheap interest rates, maybe like .. mmm.. lets see , 8% ? if you want to make 8% on your money you would need to make 12% in the stock market before tax. if someone offered you 8% on your money you would kiss their feet in the market.
And yet, folks beg the bank to pay him 8% , never fails, always makes me thankful I was not born into this time and culture of 'borrow today and worry tomorrow'.
