Default January 2009 BOTM Voting - OPEN!!!!!!!

Good luck everyone!!!!!

BaggerDriver's 1952 FL 74" PanHead

VIN indicates it is a midyear build ..

The bike is about 90-95 % original , if ya dont count the trans which is a 57 model .. Not everything is 52 , but it is period correct ..

I am the third owner , bought from my Brother in Law in 1979 , who got it when his father passed .. His father was the original owner ..The bike was in pretty rough shape when BIL sold it to me .. Looked nothing like it does now ..

I always loved the look of these bikes in their original configurations , and a visit to an old bike show in 1983 , convinced me of what was to be done to the bike .. I started in 1984 , and being in the military , and havin a wife ( read broke , no money ) , it was a long process .. Finished in early nineties after I retired ..Still ridden a few hundred miles a month ..

BMDeckie's 2008 Darwin Motorcycles, BB96V-SX Digger

96 S&S
Super E Shorty Carb
D&D Exhaust
minus 2" springer front end
Tauer primary
Scalop sporty tank
Bunch of other stuff

The most important part of the bike is my Bell that you can see in both pics. My buddy and Chief (U.S. Coast Guard) got me that the day after I totalled my Night Train, also broke my pelvis. When I was laid up in the hospital he found out that out of all the bikes I have owned that was the one that didnt have a bell. The first thing he did was go to Harley and get the USCG bell. I have had a lot of close calls riding is SE Texas, blew my front tire out just the other day. However, in my mind that bell saves my *** everytime.

grimm's 2005 Night Train Trike

mods...wow. ok, here we go...
-new tins
-custom paint
-powdercoated lower legs
-16" powdercoated gimps
-numerous replaced and/or repowdercoated engine or primary parts.
-+4 Front End
-7 Degree Raked Trees
-Hand controls completely modified for Left hand only operation.
-Custom Dash (out of some scrap diamond plate i had lating around)
-assorted Misc crap like: grips, pegs, air cleaner cover, braided lines, floating front rotor, mirrors, etc.
-Linked brakes on the right foot
-Foot Clutch and Hand Shifter
-Wolfie Shift ****
-Pingel Electric Shifter
-Mammoth Solo seat
-Detachable Windshield and Sissy Bar (when i gotta transform her to a touring bike)
-then there's the rear end. it's a custom swingarm holding the frankenstein rear end with a Dana 30 Open Differential.
-HHI Four piston Rear Caliper
-The wheels are Mickey Thompson 15x12 Drag wheels.
-The tires are MT street radials with 13.5" footprint each.

There have been very few mods that have been made that were purely aesthetic. I am not rich so i had to focus on getting the necessary parts that would get me back on the road. It sucks cause i can't just hop on any bike and go, but it's cool knowing that i have the only bike in the world with this particular setup.

This bike was a year and a half in the making. blood, sweat and tears went into it's build and i consider it an honor just to be nominated alongside these other fine bikes. Thank you. -grimm
