Head Unit upgrade suggestions needed
need to replace a dead Alpine-123 (2 days of riding under the rain) on my 2012 FLHX. I have Biketronics 2180 amp and 7.1 speakers in the fairing, with plans to add 2 more speakers to the lowers fairly soon.
I do need to keep the Iphone integration, Pandora and Bluetooth.
Any suggestions on the best replacement option?

The Sony Gannicus references is a popular choice, for a reason. It was on my short list but the tune tray wouldnt have been functional for me, and I know I am in the minority but I like having a CD player for worse case scenarios. Batteries die, reception poor sometimes, etc and I have had a few occassions where the CD was my only option. Extremely happy with my Kenwood but it is one of many good choices.

Another reason to love it is, your cell phone will work as a large remote to control the unit. Folks often complain about not seeing the display on most HU's. Not with this model because you never need to focus on the display. And Sony has a feature where you can control the power of each speaker. And, you can keep your favorite apps, stations, whatever on the remote. I love it.

Liked my old Kenwood, but like my current JVC better as far as ease of use. This receiver has a lot to offer for the $$ and 4.8v preouts too...
