I am just curious, so will bench test it and we can - probably - put this amp in the NO DO list...
THEN I will order the RZ and music test that one (and leave it in the fairing if I like it better).

lol You gotta admit Smokey Joe had the funniest line of the day! Realistically speaking that amp won't fit in the fairing. Anything wider than the soundstream won't fit. Like pioneer I had a couple of those amps and they were junk IMO. . Severely overrated. But that was then. Competition is a bitch. That said they might be making better stuff now. . . But I doubt it.

Default test results are in...

so got it in last night. on the bench this morning...
battery showed 12.3V.

even though specs in the manual show higher RMS on the Rear channels, I did not detect any difference.

used 0DB 1KHz test signal & osc. scope

No load, back and front: 139-ish Watt @ 2ohm without distortion on the osc scope.
2 ohm load (resistor bank; now put on a piece of metal to allow better heat dissipation!): 90-ish Watt

the 2.7 and 4 ohm loads were way sub-par as well (obviously lower)

Amp did not seem to heat up excessively.
Did NOT do an audio test

This is BELOW SS / RZ / PPI specs.
"PoS"... but I had to see it myself

the "good thing" about this amp is the HPF/LPF and bass boost options.
and... it will fit in the fairing! when you have your Gauge rings trimmed.

dim:
6.0" deep
7.25" wide (amp itself, without the connectors)
8 5/8" with connectors end to end
2.0 inch high

conclusion, you can fill in the blanks right: Specs are complete BS, stick with the known working ones "we all" use.

I am packing this one up and returning and will order the RZ2000 to replace my SS. As Gannicus and some others say it is better...

They couldn't build decent audio equipment 20 years ago, and it looks like they haven't learned anything new.

lot of the 6" deep amps FIT in the fairing. The problem is putting the fairing back on!! But who knows . . . It might fit. But with the specs you tested at AAWAV it's a non issue. . .lol Can't wait to hear your assessment of the RZ4! Don't test the dam thing . . .Put it in and play your music.. .lol Keep us posted brother!

Testing is the only way to judge if an amp is really putting out the watts or if the owners are suffering from having drunk the koolaid. Keep up the good work, maybe someday we can get manufacturers to post honest specs!

Got sidetracked this weekend due to freaking leaking pool heater at my rental place. Ordered RZ just 40 minutes ago and as I need to dial in the amp anyway with the scope I will redo the test.

Will also try to find the sweep antenna on my attic to see if radio will be better. The yellow plug with wire is pretty much worthless although it worked fine when I had the 300x2 in the fairing.

I never would have thought anyone would need a pool heater in Vegas

Who would have thought that Vegas needed pool heaters? Ain't that place hot?
