quick disconnects inside the fairing...
I'm getting all my stuff together to do my install. I want to maintain my CB so I'm sticking with the stock HU. For my hi input, rear especially, I want to put a plug then corresponding mating plugs on both ends of the amp. That way I can easily bypass / remove the amp if I need to without having to trim and resolder my factory wires. Same concept as making a install kit factory plug wiring harness.
My question is: inside of my fairing, do I need to worry about being a heavy duty weather plug. Such has a Deutsch? http://www.amazon.com/Deutsch-4-pin-Connector-housing-Terminals/dp/B00B4FCQCK/ref=pd_sim_sbs_e_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=01KAH8HN1NVZ0W57 X1PA
Or would a basic molex style work? http://www.amazon.com/Molex-4-Pin-Connector-0-093-quot/dp/B0009WBHLK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405354991&sr=8-1&keywords=molex+4+pin
This will be just for the hi level inputs, not the power / ground.

The Deutsch connectors are optimum because they are sealed.
However since you're behind the fairing, you can use simpler MOLEX connectors like these from Radio Shack: http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2103250
The most important thing is actually solder the connections. After long exposure to vibration, moisture, oxygen and heat, a typical crimped copper wire can become oxidized, increase in resistance and lose conductivity.
