Something isn't right.... The bottom line is if your destorting your speakers your destroying them. It sounds like you have nice equipment, maybe you should play with your settings in the garage and find your highest volume set point that you can go without distortion. Make sure you don't exceed that out on the road. Be carefully with you avc also if you have it. I shut mine off.

On the Sony HU . . . Make sure your "Dynamic Loudness" feature is off and the HPF is crossed over at 80 to 100 HZ. The 2180 has no gain settings you can adjust. So you will have to tune from the HU. As Ridedaddy stated you have great components. Just need to dial them in.

I've got 7.1's so I'll keep an eye on how this proceeds. I haven't had a problem but I get nervous on the slab with it turned up over 3/4's. I think it's the stock HU. That it would distort any setup b/c it is delivering a bad signal at high volume, but I don't have the money for a new HU right now.

Ok did a few things today. I only have 1 speaker in the other is on the way. I turned up the HPF it was off I set it at 80 the dynamic sound is off and I set the present sound to curze. I also hooked my Ipod up and set eq to normal on all my songs the other speaker will be here tomorrow. I will hook it up and let you know how it sounds.
