right ,,,, you have no need to flash the radio and in fact, you do NOT want to ,,,, just leave it stock when adding non-Harley brand amplifiers ,,,,,

[QUOTE=JMJOHN;12775483]ultranutz ,,,,,,,

correct me if I am wrong but I think many of us are making this whole Harley "FLASH" thing for the 2014s, way too complicated,,,,,,

from what I remember, standing in front of the Harley service computer ,,,,,,, you have 4 basic choices ,,,,,

1 ,,,,,, StreetGlide stock, no amp, no front-rear fade ,,,,,

2 ,,,,,,, Ultra stock, no amp, activate font-rear fade ,,,,,,,,

3 ,,,,,,,, flash for Harley BOOM amps, which removes bass response and disables rear output channels on the radio ,,,,,,,,

4 ,,,,,,, special flash for 2014 CVO Ultra ,,,,,, lowers output volume on the radio, removes bass response, disables rear output channels on radio, and a few other complicated things tied into the special features on the CVO ,,,,,,

so in summary ,,,,,,, if you intend to use "any" brand of aftermarket amplifier ,,,,,, have the radio flashed for NO AMP and YOUR CHOICE on whether you want to activate front/rear fade, and if you do, it will turn on the rear output channels of the radio, just like it is stock on the Ultra ,,,,,

have I made any sense here?[/QUOTE
John there was 8 different configurations on the flashes.

When I took my SGS in to have it flashed, the service guy told me there was no way to flash the bike for a CVO or Ultra. He said that only the SGS options were available to him. Granted I was the first person in having it done. I just wish there service guys had a bit of training before new models came out. When he did my bike, there was no option for 2 Amps-4 Speakers. He had to program mine for 2 Amps-6 Speakers. 4 in front, and 2 in back. And with this came no Fade control.

Also, I really don't think increasing or decreasing the Bass or Treble has much of an effect.

Chris

I want Fade front to back, No DSP output and good Sound.
IS THIS TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR Harley?

no doubt that many of the Harley service techs are way behind the 8-ball on this one ,,,,,,,

Can't recall them all but the techs screen showed 8 different flashes anywhere from just speakers to 8 speakers with 2 amps, and everything in between
Also there software doesn't really like aftermarket.

but if you flash either of the radios back to stock, they work very well with an aftermarket amp ,,,,,,, including of course the J&M amps ,,,,,,
