Default Which size speakers should i get

hello, I am ordering a Fairing for my roadking, I have 3 options for speakers. first would be 2 6.5, or 4 5.25, or 2 6x9's? all speakers will be Polk. I mainly listen to rock and metal if that helps. I m looking for best sound. will be using a Infinity head unit. thanks

You want the 6 x 9's and a good amp with that set up. IMO rock and metal sound better on the Infinities. . . others may disagree.

I would go with either the 2 6.5 0r the 2 6X9. If you add a amp you would only need a 2 channel one

I wouldn't put the Pioneer 6X9's in a fairing, ( with a lot of power )....it could vibrate off !!!
Your Road King has Hard bags, so,................I'd go with the 6.5's in the fairing, and speaker lids, with a VERY powerful 4 channel amp !

Are you getting the fairing just to have audio ???? Don't know that I'd do that. Many other audio options, without a fairing.

What are you future plans for audio ??

LOL. . This would be the ideal set up. . Hell I though the OP was just wanting fairing speakers for his music. I know a lot of Road King and Street glide guys with just two speakers in the fairing. Honestly, I don't know how they do it, But it sure as hell a lot of em! I guess having an Ultra for so many years has me spoiled rotten. Two speakers would kill me! lol

I started with no speakers on my RK
then added the J&M handlebar speakers. That was the chit back then and they still are a great setup
added a fairing and 4 5.25" polks
replaced that fairing with a 6x9 fairing
totaled it
moved to the Ultras. :-)

I'm ordering a reckless fairing. I have the boom audio already mounted to the windshield but still want a fairing. So that's why I'm asking.

bigger is better here bud. 2 6x9s will provide for a much fuller sound experience.

you don't mention an amp so I'm assuming you'll be running the speakers off the head unit power? If so make sure to stay with 4 ohm speakers.

I can always add an amp later if needed. I was leaning towards the 6x9's. Here is a link to the fairing website
