I think most amp manufacturers aside from the ones listed with specific warranties like J&M, BT, HT, HW, etc. unless the amp is professionally installed then they'll limit your warranty.

 

I'm sure you're right. I've installed dozens of decks and amps in my and other vehicles without problem over the years and not doing anything different than the "professional" guys. I told the SS tech guy I talked to about all the troubleshooting I did and he said I had already done everything and more that they would have asked me to check but alas, that was not good enough for SS. Oh well.

 

I quickly threw in the new RZ4 amp and it is cleaner with less distortion at higher volume than my previous SS amp however they appear to be the exact same amp with different badging. Hopefully the internals are a little different though and this will last longer. The picture on the Power Acoustics website is not what you receive, unless there is a new second version that I didn't get.
