Lower fairing speakers
Hello,
Great site and definitely a wealth of information. Need a little help.
2009 FLHTCU
Stock HU
Soundstream PN4.520D
Biketronics 7.1, front fairing
Infinity 62.11, rear pods (replaced Polk MM651, my set was terrible )
Here's my question- Which speakers would be best for the lower fairing with my current setup, Biketronics 6.5 or Infinity 62.11?
With the BT 6.5 being a 4 ohm speaker, it would bring my front channel down to 2 ohms. I assume this would be a good match.
The Infinity 62.11 is a 2 ohm speaker. How would that affect my front channel? What would be the ohms for the front channel? I am considering these because they produce good sound at a moderate price. However, I want to do it right. If the Infinity is not a good fit with the 7.1's, please let me know.
Also, was looking at going to the dealership for the lower speaker pods. Is there a quality alternative available?
If additional information is needed, let me know. Thanks in advance.

You will have to use a 4 ohm speaker in the lowers, wired in parallel with the 7.1's, so that the load the amp sees is 2 ohms. So,..........you can't use another pair of Infinity's, .......unless you want to add another amp.
The Biketronics 6.5 speakers would be a great choice.
HD makes the best looking/functioning lower speaker pods !
When you do this,....the front speakers go from getting 100 watts, to 65 watts each, but I think you'll be satisfied !!
