I also couldn't find any port holes in the pods. It seems like such a small sealed enclosure can't be optimal. Has anyone tried cutting ports into the pods?

I installed inside the pod as described above. What a PITA getting those pods out was. Anyway, started doing the gains setting by ear per Ultranutz instructions. The speakers had noticeable woofer distortion at very low volume (like 5 bars) with the gain all the way down with the amp in ALL PASS. These speakers either can't handle ANY bass or I have something wrong.
I eventually had to put it in HP with the frequency set around 120hz to get it as loud as I like it. The gain around 5'ish.

I did run a remote wire since I was in there and its easy.

I'm going to get flashed for 1 amp when I go in for my 1k service to see if it helps.

Don't get me wrong, the speakers are clearer than the stock garbage but they don't blow me off the bike like I was expecting. At 80mph they're better, but just a little.

Can you guys share your settings? Thanks.
I just finished the install on my 14 sgs yesterday as described above. I kept mine on ap gain around 5 , 120hz no distortion but I feel as tho it could be louder . Not sure if I have my settings right or if it just needs to be flashed...

I will try the hp setting and see how that sounds

What amp are you using? If it's the PBR300x2, and you are using the high level inputs, you don't need the remote turn on wire. Using both will cause problems.

It's the RF PBR300x2. I connected the remote wire just to avoid having to adjust the high level input. What kind of problems? I don't think that would contribute to the sound quality issues.

Can you verify my polarity findings?

Right side, Pink +, Pink/Blk stripe -
Left Side, Pink/Orange +, Pink/Grey stripe -

Is that correct?

Here's some more pictures of how I installed the Infinity Kappa 62.11i's in the pods. Before putting them back into the bike I put some weather stripping around the holes to seal it and also create a tunnel with no gaps for the sound to come through.
***Note the position of the speaker terminal block, it only fits in the pod one way.

I just purchased a 2015 Street Glide Special this week. After reading through this forum, I've already ordered the RF PBR300x2 and Infinity Kappa 62.11i's for the fairing. My question is, if I mount these speakers on the outside of the speaker pod, can I use the grills that came with the speakers or do I need to purchase Harley's Boom grills?

I bought the boom grills, but the speakers are still too tight between the pods and the inner fairing in my opinion. I'm in the process of installing these now, but will try this inner method next. This looks better.

One piece of advise, test the sound quality of your speakers when complete and see if you can hear any difference between inside vs outside mounting...
