Default Yet another 6x9 question

I did some searching, but couldn't find anything. Any thoughts on the Kicker 40CSS694 component 6x9's? Was just thinking that a component set would help keep the water out. How do they sound or how do you think they would do? Power handling seems to be good and the 90db sensitivity would be ok. I'm running the PN4.520D with a Sony head unit.

Those speakers have a foam surround, I doubt that foam is waterproof.

Don't know about the model you are referring to, But the ones you want are the KSC693 150 RMS, 92 sensitivity, Rubber Surround. . . .Killer!!!

Especially with the Soundstream 520.D

If you want a waterproof 6x9 the only ones I know of are the Biketronics 6x9 Titan II or the Hogtunes. Both of these use a bridge mounted tweeter and are sealed against water. Any coaxial speaker will eventually leak due to the pole mounted tweeter, no way to seal that up.

Just installed the BT (HAT) 6x9's in the Hogtunes lids and they are well engineered, sealed from water intrusion and are loud AND CLEAR. I'm driving them with a BT4180.

Floridapoolboy is correct Biketronics is the ultimate, However Before my Kickers I ran the 6 x 9 Polks and they did well in the rain.....and trust me I got caught many times! I've only had my kickers for one season, caught in the rain twice and so far so good.

How did you like the Polks? That was another thought only due to I have the DXi6500's up front.

yeah that whole db rating; I'm not going to say it's not important but when you get into amps that dish out a good bit of power, then it's not as important as matching is with lower powered amps.

89db 1w/1m and up would be fine.

The 6 x 9 Polks are awesome! First off they are Marine certified (Which is why I guess they did well in the rain) they are 2.7 ohm speakers @ 94 DB efficiency. Which means paired with the Soundstream 520.D pushing 130 watts to em. . .They scream!! These are the MM691 model. Not as much bass as the Pioneers but you can't tell it at speed. When I get bored with my kickers those will probably go back in or maybe not. . . lol I'm looking at the 6 x 9 Hats as well. I'm up to 4 pairs of 6 x 9's at this stage. But I like working on my sound system. . It's my hobby. My problem is I don't keep my 6 x 9's in long enough to know if the rain is gonna kill em. . . .lol
