Default Add passenger communications to Rider communications kit

Hey, sorry if this has been covered somewhere else in the forum, I did a search and could not find a specific answer to my question. I am buying my brother's 2010 FLHX and he added the Boom! Audio Communications Switch Kit (P/N:77173-08). I need to add a communications switch for my wife to the existing switch. I would rather not buy a $399 kit (P/N: 77107-09) just to waste 3/4 of the kit. Is there a way I can add a passengers switch (much like the one in the 77107-09 kit) without breaking the bank? Has anyone had experience doing this, if so, how did you do it? Any and all information would be helpful.

Thanks, Steve

I've not done it myself and usually find myself in just the opposite scenario as yourself in removing anything audio from the bikes I work on. :-)

But if it helps you any, I have a pair of pods with the controls in them from my 12 FLHTK. I would assume from there you would need only a wiring harness. $75 shipped to you in the US.

What do you mean "Pods" and do you know the part number for them? I'm new to Harley Davidson so excuse my lack of lingo. I think if I buy a passenger headset harness (P/N 76440-06), a switch and harness assembly (P/N 77133-09) and an audio system wiring harness (P/N 70169-06a) that I should be able to complete the project. Which is exactly what you have (had) on your FLHTK.

sorry maybe I misunderstood your project details. Are you wanting to add the rear speaker pods with the passenger controls in them as shown in this picture?

I'm sorry, I was referring to the communications system (intercom, CB, bike to bike) so my wife and I can talk to each other and other people in our group. I have the rider dash headset port and controls, I just need passenger headset harness and controls.

my suggestion would be not fool with the HD stuff and simply contact J&M

http://www.jmcorp.com

Call and talk to John directly and he'll point you in the right direction.

They'll have all you need and it will probably be wireless to boot!
