Default What are your speaker recommendations?

Please give me some recommendations on what speakers to go with in my HD CVO upgrade saddlebag lids. I just installed a Sony DSX-MS60 radio and the RF PBR300X4 AMP, I have boom audio speakers today.

Another question, do I have to stay with the 5x7 factory size?

I'll start by saying....UGH.....

1. The Sony radios are really good, but the 'marine' unit,........not worth an extra penny. The 2v pre-amp outs are disappointing. Would rather see 4 or 5v.

2. Bad amp choice , for 2 reasons. Not a powerhouse , by any means, and not 2 ohm stable. This means you can't run your BOOM speakers with it, and it takes a nice Infinity 5x7 / 6x8 out of the equation.

If you could return the amp, I would. Then I would get the Infinity speakers for the lids & either the Biketronics 7.1 or Infinity 6.5 for the fairing.

Wish you would have stopped in for advice BEFORE placing your order !!

Let us know what your next move is, and we'll help as best we can from there !!
GOOD LUCK !!

Are you saying that you would not run an AMP or it is not needed? What AMP would you use if you are not saying that? As far as not being able to run the BOOM lid speakers, I knew that and why I was asking for opinions on what to use as its replacement. I can return the AMP without issue. For the fairing speakers, I currently have the polk DB6.5's, what would you suggest if you would not suggest these?

Let me know.

After talking to glacier I went ahead and got a Soundstream Pn4.520d AMP. I will leave my front Polk speakers in place so let's hear other options for bag speaker opinions.

Infinity, Polk, Alpine, Pioneer etc etc?

f you have to stick with the 5x7/ 6x8..............the Infinity are superb. If you can get a 6x9 adapter, the Pioneer 2 way are unbeatable, if you MUST have the best BASS !!

What is the model # for the Infinity 6.5's you suggest?

I have the Polk Audio MM651 (6.5s) in my fairing now and blew one after only about 7 months. I was happy with them but did expect more sound that they provided.

I have to get a new set and heard that the Biketronics Titan II 7.1's are a great upgrade for handling more sound and giving a little more bass. I only have fairing speakers and was now comparing the Biketronics to what you said about the Infinity's. Which do you think is better and provides better/more sound?

There is no replacement for displacement, especially when you are taking bass.

The 6X9 Pioneers are the best BASS speaker in a 6X9. If you can't use a 6X9, this Infinity Kappa 682.11cf is a great little speaker , in the 6X8/ 5X7 category !

I'm about to install Hybrid Audio's 5x7 into my lids this weekend..
About anything has to be better than the ka-boom stuff I'd wager.
Have a new set of Polk mm651, still in box if anyone's interested..
