Default Audio upgrade advice needed

I have been going crazy researching but still have some questions. I currently have the stock HK head unit , Iron Cross Ipod interface and 5.5' J&M speakers in my 2012 Street Glide. Oviously the sound sucks at anything much more than a standstill.
I have decided to keep the head unit. I know some may frown at this but I swear most of my trips are in drowning rains. I feel more comfortable with the HK in these conditions.
For speakers I like what I have read about the Titan II 6.5 or 7.1 in the batwing. I am leaning toward the 7.1's...thoughts???
My real question is with the amp. So much good has been said about the RF PBR300x2 that I was leaning that way but not being a class D amp worries me a bit. Maybe the Sound Stream 4.520D would be a smarter choice but it seems considerably larger and it's already tight with the Iron Cross module. The SS would make sense if I ever go with lower speakers or TP speakers.
I am not a picky audio guy, just want to hear tunes at highway speed (on a tight budget). I might be overthinking all of this but any input is appreciated.

Go with the 7.1's.

The Iron Cross iPod controller will have to be relocated under the stock HK radio to get any amp to fit. After that the choice depends on need and future plans. You only need a 2 channel amp with the fairing speakers, but if you are positive that you will be expanding in the future, it will be cheaper in the long run to buy what you think you will need now.

What worries you about the pbr300x2? It has a proven record and the boosted rail tech doesn't overload your charging system. Great little amp matched up with the BT 7.1's. You can fit two under the fairing if you decide to expand in the future and if the FM loss of the Soundstream is something you don't want to deal with.

Soundstream 4.520 is also a great little amp producing a lot of power. Only drawback is you will lose all FM signal reception. Keep that in mind before you decide which is best for you.

Hmmm...I didn't read that I would lose FM with the Sound Stream, that might be a deal breaker. Thanks for that info.
Now, I am pretty ignorant as far as audio tech goes so my next question may be stupid. Say I go with a PBR300x2 and next winter I decide to put lower fairings on with Titan II 6.5's. Could I power all four speakers with the amp? It would only be two channel but could I power all four???

As long as all four speakers are 4 ohm, which the Titan II's are, then yes you can power them off the same amp as long as it's 2 ohm stable. The pbr200x2 is 2 ohm stable.

However, the 300x2 might be a tad underpowered for all four speakers. I would suggest either using two pbr300x2's, or spending a little more and using the BT2180 amp from Biketronics. That amp will have more than enough power for all 4.

Two pbr300x2's can be fitted into the fairing. One on top of the radio, the other on the side by way of the Hogtunes 2nd amp bracket.

Ok, got it. I am learning as I go. I would much rather be installing cams, rebuilding a clutch or something else that I understand. Thanks for your input.
