Default CVO Ultra Boom Amp replacement?

Does anyone make a replacement amp for the stock Harley boom amp that is installed under the tourpak of CVO Ultras? I'm looking for a more powerful, better sounding amp that is plug and play with the harnesses for a 2008 CVO Ultra stock setup and works with the stock HK head unit. I would be mounting in the same place under the tourpak so it should have the same/similar footprint.

Gnarl78 ,,,,,,,

the stock Harley amp on your CVO is actually one of the better amps Harley has ever offered ,,,,,,,

what we do to most all of the CVOs like yours, at trade shows all across the USA is ,,,,,,

1 ,,,,,,,, replace the fairing speakers with ROKKER XXs, ((( http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....=HCRK-7252-RXX )))) ,,,, and install these grills with mounted tweeter and midrange http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....ctID=HCRK-GRTM ,,,,,

2 ,,,,, replace the rear trunk pod speakers with a set of these http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....D=HURE-5252GTM ,,,,,,

3 ,,,,,, install these J&M 7.25" speakers into your lower fairings http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....ctID=HLPS-7252 ,,,,,,

4 ,,,,, install this J&M ROKKER XTP amplifier http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....=JAMP-250HC06P and connect it to the new ROKKER XX UPPER fairing speakers ,,,, ((order it direct from J&M so that we can program it properly ahead of time for your specific application ))) ,,,,

5 ,,,, connect the front output wires/channels from your existing Harley amp to the new LOWER fairing speakers ,,,,,,

6 ,,,,, use this custom J&M harness http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....=JAMP-RCA-UCVO to split the signal from the Harley radio to both amps and this video to help you wire it in correctly
,,,,,,

I do not believe I have forgotten anything ,,,,,,

John, I'm assuming you would take the leads from the existing fairing speaker and splice extensions to reach the lowers as mentioned in 5. However, If I didn't want to install speakers in my lowers, how can I install the new amp in the fairing to only power the fairing speakers (and being controlled from the HK head unit)? I'm assuming I cannot just disconnect the power and speaker wires going to the original fairing speakers as it looks like it has a loop back to the tour pak amp?

you are correct.

My suggestion is pull the BA amp, pull that ridiculous CANBUS wiring harness that HD devised to lock you into their crappy equipment and go aftermarket amp and speakers. You'll be MUCH happier.

Biketronics has the BT4180 which is plug and play for the head unit, 7.1" in the fairing, and then a set of Kicker CS67 in the rear pods.

Gnarl78 ,,,,,,,,

just disconnect the speaker wires going to the fairing speakers now ,,,,,, and leave the stock Harley amp connected to the rear pod speakers ,,,,,,,

then use this CVO integration harness from J&M http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....=JAMP-RCA-UCVO and install this amplifier in the fairing http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....=JAMP-250HC06P to run the fairing speakers ,,,,,,,,

purchase the amp from J&M and have it programed for this specific application ,,,,,,,

like I said, we do this exact same type of install to many CVOs all across the USA each year ,,,,,
