Default Aftermarket radio and display

I'm considering replacing my stock head unit with an aftermarket head unit.
When I changed the rafio in my toyota truck, even with my stock speakers, I noticed a HUGE improvement in sound quality. So I'm hoping for the same kind of improvement in sound quality (I recently installed BT 444 and 7.1" speakers but still using the stock head unit)

My question is:
Can you see/read the display on aftermarket radio in the sun???

But I want to be able to "see" the display...

the only sony units made that I know of that will allow for any sort of sunlight visibility will be the marine grade units.

they have a white background with larger black LCD letters. All others, pretty much useless in direct sunlight. But then again.. when you're riding down the road why are you looking at your display? The handlebar controls are not only for your own safety but ours too. :-) Get familiar with your controls...

MEX-GS600BT. It has a setting for a default white background that would probably work if you had to have it that way. I have glanced at mine in direct sunlight and could still tell what was showing and my color is black background with yellow to match the gauges. I agree with UN that you should probably be eying the road more than the radio.

I think the reason there is "better bass" is because of the setup in your car vs the setup on the bike. Much more controlled environment there.

Which Pioneer unit are you referring to sir?

If you get a pioneer, Go for the DEH-80PRS. That is one of the best head units you can get in any brand for a fairly low price range.

Hey UN , DEH-8400bh I like how it hooks right up with my phone when just switching the source bottom. Nice looking and the best reception of a aftermarket radio I've heard. Better that factory. And I'm dam sure much better bass, I'm more concerned with too much for the bike. Has a rear out USB with about 4' cable no front input, so I use tiny Zip drives

man it's all about what you like to be honest. Doesn't matter what I run or anyone else runs, just about you. The only things I look for in the realm of necessities is 1) 4v outputs on the RCAs and 2) handlebar kit integration.

On #2, as long as the unit you choose has either a single wire like the kenwood head units do or the 3.5mm plug like the Sony head units do for steering wheel remote control, then you're golden there.

The rest of it is purely about what features you want.
