While I understand from reading numerous audio threads that aftermarket head units will outperform the stock unit, is it worth having the RCA inputs installed on the HK unit? Does this mod make up the difference in performance that this unit lacks? Thanks!
if you want to keep the stock head unit in place then by all means I would have the RCAs added to it by Tony @ Iron Cross Audio. It will be a MUCH cleaner signal than the head unit puts out via speaker level (internally amped) outputs.
if you don't care about keeping the stock head unit, then I would simply replace the head unit with an aftermarket.
Thanks ultranutz, I was hoping you would chime in and say that.....I want to keep two way comms/cb otherwise I'd yank 'er out! That said, I plan on adding an SS amp, bt7.1s in fairing and MM651s in rear....unless, of course, you have a better suggestion.

I'm sure there are folks that will chime in here with their opinions as well but I think what you're doing there will be a great sounding system IMO.
...one other question....I plan on adding a pair of tweeters to my setup. I here a lot of folks recommending the Polk silk domes but they are 4 ohms. Any suggestions here?..would the boom audio component tweeters be a good alternative with the SS pn4.520 amp?
I will tell you though. It's a good idea to connect all your speakers and set your gains before you go through the trouble of installing tweets. You may just find you don't need them
