Default Speaker Lid Rant

I swear this is by far the absolute most frustrating mod I've done to date to my Glide. First, I order my lids, then got em all painted up, get ready to put them on and I'm told oh it'll be another week, we have to order a 35 pin connector AND get the radio flashed. This week the connector gets in and we get everything plugged up only to find only the right side speaker works. No big surprise here, the left side speaker smelled funny and come to find out it's fried. Not sure how or why it happened but thats $100 bucks down the drain and I still don't have my speaker lids functional. Its been a month!! Yes, I am impatient. Headed to best buy for more speakers. Just FYI those were Polk dxi, my installer guy says there were damaged some way and there's no way they'll exchange them. Long Sigh.

What brand lids?

You know, now that you had your rant, you're obligated to post pictures now.

Default Update!!!!

Finally finished!! So the speaker itself wasn't blown, but the 35 pin connector was toasted. Thank God Whiskey River in Texarkana had the Boom Audio wiring harness in stock. There was an issue with the 35 pin connector we had, because the pins we had to attach to the wiring did not go in to the connector completely. Anyways, now I have a pretty awesome little sound system. I know there are better ones out there, but this one sounds pretty awesome. Just for the reco
Here are pics and particulars: fairing speakers from j&m $369.00 (already had them, before truly researching audio, I drank the j&m kool-aid), Alpine Power block $149.00, hogtunes speaker lids from ebay $275.00, lids painted $150.00, wiring harness from harley $43.00 for HK radio, line out converters $39.00, polk dxi's $100.00, and $40.00 to my husband's son to help install all this good stuff.
Click on the last Pic, it's a video and should show you a little about the sound. Thanks Ultranutz for the help as well!
