Default Amp and Ohm Audio questions

need some help,

I have a Sony DSX-MS60 head unit. It is 4 ohm unit.

I currently have the ARC audio 2 channel amp that is 2 ohm. And running Infinity Kappa 6.5 speakers in the faring.

Is this safe?

Second, I want to run a second amp for my rear speakers. I bought the Hog Tunes bag lids and I have the Infinity Kappa 6x9 3 way's to go in them. They too are 2 ohm. The second amp I have is a Rockford Fosgate Punch that is a 4 channel 4 ohm. Is this safe to run? When it comes to Audio I know very little.

As of now I am not having any issues with the setup I have running now. The OHM thing just confuses me.

So, anyone out here that knows Audio? Please help..... LOL

Yes. The speakers don't care what the radio is rated for when they are hooked up to the amp. The amp doesn't care what the radio is.

No. The speakers can be a higher number than the amp, but never lower. You would need a different amp.

Confusing. Looks like Infinity is using the resistance of the wire to calculate speaker resistance.

I would treat it as a 2-ohm speaker. Wire resistance is nominal. You could try to use them. Worse thing that will happen is the amp will overheat and be ruined.

So, would these be safe to run with the Rockford Fostgate 4 OHM amp?

From the information you posted, I wouldn't run them with a 4 ohm amp, but I have no experience with those speakers.

Both Crutchfield and Sonic list them as 2 ohm. So yeah like Pioneer said...no go on the 4 ohm amp.

I just emailed Infinity and asked them. I may have to sell these and get there Marine series, or some other 6x9.

If I go with another 6x9, what do you guys recommend? Looking for something with a great sound. That is why I went infinity.
