polyfil is a material most widely used in pillows and blankets but many years ago found it's way into the audio world as acoustical shaping material. In other words it has the ability to shape a sound wave to refract (not reflect) movement of that sound wave to allow large speakers to be put in small sealed areas (mostly subwoofers) but also allows the controlling of mid to low frequencies where smaller speakers are installed into larger open air environments.
Now in non-technical terms. It tightens up sloppy bass response when used properly.

My polyfil looks different. It was thicker and fluffy. I meshed 3 pieces together on each speaker just to cover. Hope this was good enough. Sounds good so I guess its cool. Thanks for all your help UN you are the man brother! Like to see pics and stuff of the new set up on your bike when you get two seconds.

good luck with that! lol.. I would just leave it in there. It doesn't hurt anything as far as audio is concerned. my point was it's useless for dampening sound for acoustical reasons.
