Default Please help noob finish amp install...

I have most everything done correctly so far but am lost with how to get the signal to the speakers now. The step X step I have been following were for the 07 SG but they have led me astray on some speaker wire colors and now I am just lost. I have an 09 Electra Glide Classic and am using the stock head unit. I installed 2 MM651's in the fairing and am now trying to figure out the speaker connections. I cut off the plugs from the old speaker connections and have wired them to my line level to RCA adapter. 2 RCA Y's are going from the adapter to the amp. I have the wires hanging from the crossovers from the MM's and would assume those connected to the speaker block on the amp but the instructions I find say something about more colored wires and harnesses....HELP! Feeling dumb.

Stock speaker wires from head unit to amp. Then wire the speaker outputs from the amp to inputs on the crossovers, then the output from the crossovers to the speakers.

your black and black/white striped wires go to the front amp outputs.

black/white on each side is your + lead

the other end of the wires coming out the crossovers with connectors on them go to the speakers. Pay attention to the connector sizes as they only go on 1 way unless you force them.

Default Well.....

Got the amp and speakers installed and WOW! Major diff! While I was at it and had the whole thing torn apart I went ahead and installed my L.A. Chopper Twin Peaks bars. Looks great but....

I have this piece left over....where does it go? I think it was somewhere around the tank:

That looks like the sleeve that slides over the tab on the front of the tank where it attaches to the frame.

Covers the tank mounting bolts. You should have two of them. One per side.

No, you're right. There's an error in the step by step instructions at that point.
I noticed the same thing when I did my install.
