Default I'm done with Polk Audio

After initially starting with the mm651's and experiencing the same problem as many here, I purchased a set of the db651's to avoid the mess of the mm651's. 3 days after the sellers 90 day return limit the same right side speaker died. Not sure if it's the ss nano pn4.52 amp overdriving the right side speaker or if it's just coincidence that the same side speaker died a second time. I had purchased a SquareTrade warranty so I will be getting my money back minus the cost of the warranty. I really don't know which way to go as I'm tired of removing the outer fairing which I can almost do in the dark now. I am tempted to go back to pure stock as it didn't give me any trouble other than sounding like shat. I had the avc set at 0 and the gains were set reasonable. Maybe some bt 7.1's???

The 4.520 will easily overpower the db61's, if you are running only one per channel. You can't go wrong with the 7.1's. I don't have first hand experience with them, yet, but the people that have them rave about them.

I ordered the MM6501 and MM651's then came here to see all the horror stories on Polk's and updated online reviews. I canceled the orders and return shipped the Polks a day after they arrived, not wanting to deal with the headaches. I checked out a pair of MM651's at a local store and they also had the offset voicecoils.

I ordered the Biketronic package with the 7.1 Titan II's, the warranty is a peace of mind and the quality has never been questioned.

Just placed my order for the bt 7.1's. Placed the order by phone and dealt with some nice guy in Idaho @ Biketronics. Hope they work out for me.

That amp is easily going to overpower those speakers. Bad idea, IMHO.

You'll be sorry, and so will your wallet..... If you're fearful of the Polks, the Infinity's are a good little 2 ohm speaker.

Almost ANYTHING is better than the BOOM.....

Please reconsider .....

Didn't even try the MM651's? You have them, might as well see if they work for you.

Needed some tunes for the ride last night so I put in the original factory speakers, backed by some fiberfill connected to the ss nano. To tell the truth they sound as good if not better than the polks I had installed. I keep the volume down hoping that they last until the new BT 7.1's get here but like I said they actually sound PDFG!
