Question CB Install on a Street Glide Question

I want to install a CB on my 2008 SG. What parts will I need from HD to complete this installation? I just purchased B2B communications unit (i.e CB). What else will I need to purchase?

Thanks

Mark

Yes, I bought the CB module already. Someone told me that my HK radio needs to be "re-flashed". Is that correct?

I totally agree. I was asked if I wanted to be a road captain and if I knew how much this dog gone thing costs, I might have thought twice before I said I was interested!

just FYI.. J&M CB products let you communicate with other riders through their HD CB modules.

and they're a helluva lot cheaper and less painful to implement. Call John @ J&M

If you find it used...and don't mind the brick sticking off your bars.

To do a JM set-up single person unit is about 430.00 then you have to add 60.00 for a bracket, 150.00 for an antenna, then get some cabling, etc. Then you need to get the lower cords from them which are anywhere from 40 up. I got my JM setup used for a Bill and still had to spend close to 300.00 (before adding the passenger cords) to be able to use it.

I spent around 700.00 on Harley components, had passenger stuff integrated and after buying two IMC headsets enjoy not having the brick. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that you need another 150.00 to hear your HD radio through the headset.

SO....

For the HD set-up on a street glide you will need:
Boom! Audio™ Bike-to-Bike (B2B) Communications Kit 76416-06C
Boom! Audio™ Music and Intercom Kit 77108-09
Boom! Audio™ System Wiring Harness 70169-06

You will also need an antenna. I used :
FLEXPOWER™ CB Antenna 1998-2010 Harley Classic or Roadglide Fairing w/Harley® CB Radio FPA-HCCB
instead of the HD set-up because I don't want the antennas sticking up in the back.

And of course you need headsets...OR you can use a handheld mic for transmitting and hear everything through the speakers.

Install is pretty simple, mostly just plug and play. If you need any other info let me know.

Ed
