Default new audio setup in a batwing

Hey all .. first time posting in this section and forgive me as im sure its been answered in some way shape or form before ...

my question is I ordered a stealth batwing from ebay for my fatboy

Its supposed to show up wit holes cut for 4 5 1/4 speakers and a reciever hole past that nothing

my question is .. what all do i need to order to get it going speakers and reciever i know .. But do i need a amp ? anything else ?

I dont need it blasting .. but i wanna hear it at 65 - 90 mph speeds ( I live in Germany .. this is a normal speed here )

also whats a good brand for reciever and speakers ? that wont break me ... looking to stay under 300 ish for the setup

OK.. I'll bite

Most likley on an aftermarket fairing setup you should be able to run a Sony or (insert brand name here) Headunit that will supply a fair amount of power to your choice of (insert brand name here) 5.25 speakers that are the correct ohm load for the HU.

I believe the Sonys are 4 ohm units so matching it with a couple sets of perfered (insert brand name here) 5.25's should be rather simple.

Under $300 might be a challenge but im sure if you shop around its possible..

I started out with a Reckless Fairing for a Road KIng it had four 5.25 speakers. I found that the speakers did not sound good to me at speeds above 50. So I removed the fairing and fiberglassed over the speaker cutouts and re cut the speaker opening to accept a 6.5 inch speaker.
I run a cheap Kenwood CD, USB deck, with Clarion speakers and an Arc Mini Amp. The system really rocks now.
And best of all I really have about 300 in the audio. I got the amp cheap from a buddy I work with who sold his Street Glide and the head unit was purchased from Best Buys and the speakers from Amazon.com.
Good luck.

then I'd opt for a SS PN2.350D
Check these JBL speakers out. Very nice specs
wire each side in series to create a 4 ohm load and you'll be set
Wrap those speakers in polyfil also.

no ignorance in asking questions man...

yes it will. the amp is stable at 2 ohms. if you take each the left and wire them parallel (+to + and - to -) to the amp then you'll wind up with a 2 ohm load.

as for the ipod, that is certainly 1 way to do it and will work perfectly fine. Me personally I'd hardwire an iPod charger into the bike's electrical so you can keep charged while you play. Inside your nacelle is an orange/white and black wire taped to the headlamp harness. that's accessory +12v and ground. You'll use the iPod to control your sound.
