timeighty5, there are MANY options out there for speakers far less than $250.

These are what I recommended a while back based on my experience with them and I still recommend them.

I've not found any 2ohm speakers that are marine grade. What do you suggest?

That is an easy one. You already know the Polk MM series sound bad *** when they don't melt right?
Then buy the MM 6501 component set! No stalks, separate tweeters, nothing to fail!
I have two sets on my bike pumping out 1200 watts for a year now with no issues.

EDIT: What are the bad polk serial numbers? My last set was AA265114921 on both speakers
I would suggest selling your 6.5" adapters on ebay at a slight discount, someone will scoop them up in no time. Then go with the BT7P1's. With a lifetime warranty and adapters, you're good too go! Infinity makes 2ohm marine grade speakers but they won't touch the Biketronics or Polk.
