Default 6X9's in the bags!

I have a buddy who put 6X9's Focals in his bags they are located on the sides near the rear facing towards the wheel, wow! they make all the difference in the world. His bike sounds like a stereo cabinet.
Our systems are similar, but these 6X9's are the big difference.
I'm running 6 6.5 Focals, 2- in the fairing, 2- in the lower fairing and 2- in the lids. 4 are powered by SS 520 amp.
I just can't believe those 6X9's have with the bass, in the bags, it's night and day!
I'm thinking about this setup, anyone else have this setup?
I might have to get another amp to power this system!
I'm also putting LED rings in my speakers, this looks fantastic too!

I have a set 2way Pioneer 6x9. I had a set of 6x9 Focals that replaced with the Pioneers. The Pioneers IMO had better low end. The best part they were cheaper. You can really hear the bass now.

I have a similar set-up. I actually followed GLACIERPEARLS lead and went crazy with the Sound System Upgrade.
I have seen a few others on here running 4 6x9's in the bags. But I don't know of anyone else besides my self and GLACIERPEARL that are pushing them with 1200 watts.

My self, I went with 2 Alpine PDX-F6 600/4 Amps for 1200 watts - 4 Polk MM691 6x9's in the bags - and 4 Polk MM6501 Components in the upper and lower fairings.

I had some issues in the beginning with the 6x9's but once I got that figured out, this bike blows peoples minds now!

Here is my set-up (except the head unit. Running a single DIN Alpine now)

Yea! Pretty impressive! Nice looking with those grills. Too bad video doesn't do justice to the sound. Can that headunit screen slip back in while cruising so you can see the gauges? And what quick disconnects are on the bags if you remember. I found some 2 pin GM style waterproof plugs at NAPA but like the ones you have there. They look like HD Dousch connectors.
Anyway, nice!

While I think that is a very impressive system and must sound absolutely amazing in person - I think the practicality of the system is completely gone

you have basically rendered your saddle bags useless, oh sure there is space around the speakers, but for the most part and from what I see most people carry in their saddle bags yours seem to be almost full already.

I think you did a great job of showing and explaining that you only lost 3 inches of dept in the trunk so that would appear to be a good use of space, but the saddle bags seem to be nothing more than speaker boxes now.

not practical for most folks - but only you know how you ride your bike and how much gear you take with you on trips so as long as it fits your needs still that is great.

and like you said, you went extreme, and not many others do

nice system though!

I avhe 6x9 Kappas in my bags like that. You cannot hear them on the road at speed. Be advised. They sound killer when parked, but otherwise I don't even notice them.

Nicely said.........lol. Most people who would not choose to go this far with a system, automatically go off the deep end telling me what a moron I am.

Me owning a touring bike is kinda like most people who own a truck. 90% of truck owners spend 90% of the time with the bed of the truck empty.

Same applies to touring bike to a degree. As for me, my main reason for riding a touring bike is this. I am a big guy and am most comfortable on a touring bike, any touring bike.
These bikes are built for comfort. The massave storage space is just a bonus for me.

When it comes to taking trips? My wife rides too and she has bags on her Dyna that hold all she can pack.

It works out great for me. Allowed me to go nuts with the sound system and not have to worry about loosing space. It is space lost that I didn't really need.

I too am an Audiophile and enjoy my system, although not quite built to your "standards" j/k

and many folks wouldn't spend even the amount of $$$ that I have into mine, but I can appreaciate it none the less

either way, keep the rubber side down and drive that portable boom box down the road with pride!

BTW - my wife rides her own also and she gets her own saddle bags on the Fatboy to hold all her ****!
