Not worth changing without an amp. Just did one with 4 dxi's and a PBR300x4 last weekend, Rocks out good. Not quite MM's and a Soundstream, but the amp, 4 speakers, and adapters were a total of $280. Amp didn't seem to get any hotter than my PBR300x2 with a 2 ohm load, and the gain pots seemed fine. FM was 90% listening source for this guy and a fader was also a priority. Hopefully we get some more confirmed FM fixes on the soundstream amps, they do rock the block.
