BT also provides for many different aftermarket head units (pretty much anything with steering wheel control inputs) with their universal kits as well, just like HW does.

I've used BT since I started putting audio on bikes back in 05 and never had a single problem with any of them so unsure about the issues you raise.

I do agree with the HW cover being a little better quality and it looks better too IMO and the mounting kit looks (never used one) to be a little more sturdy as well.

I will also say that both devices are of excellent quality and both companies stand behind their products very well. I would say out of all the folks here on the forum, I'd guestimate probably a 50/50 split for each manufacturer and I don't think anyone for either device is unhappy with it.

I don't know about Biketronics but Hawgwired has a universal adapter that allows you to use other brands like Kenwood, Pioneer, Clarion, Alpine, etc. Also the water cover for Hawgwired is more expensive, but far superior in quality, I know, I have both. I must admit I'm biased toward Hawgwired, but do the research and check it out.

Get the Hawg Wired 'cradle ', ....and the Biketronics 'module' !!! Best of both worlds !!!

Call Biketronics, @ 1-800-735-2419, and get a price on the BT1005 module ONLY. They list it with the install kit on the website, not separately. However ,.....they do sell it separately.

Hawg Wired radio install kit DK470 is easily ordered from the Hawg Wired website !!

Don't forget the Cycle Sounds Speaker Adapters !!
Good Luck !!
